VR possibilities

Virtual reality (VR) is still a hot topic, since there are several aspects that still can be further developed. The idea behind VR is the immersion for humans to a new world or new experiences. We forget our surroundings and move to a new one. During the Covid-19 pandemic there could have been expected a higher adaptation from people, since people had more time for staying home and using different technologies and adapting to new ways of entertainment or work. This didn’t happen in an amount that could have been expected. Much can be blamed on the high price of the devices and the time it takes for human to adapt to new ideas.

But there would also be a huge opportunity from a cultural aspect inside this, Even before the pandemic there had been concerts in a virtual reality. The increased usage of VR in art exhibitions is also increasing, since it gives the user a different kind of interactivity with the art. In most of the world one branch that took a hard hit of the pandemic was the cultural one. In an increased VR usage they could have benefited from concerts, art exhibitions and similarities. The question is how much can we adapt in the future for more affordable devices of VR that can immerse you in your own home and immerse you to enjoy different cultural events. Is the price really the biggest issue or is it that the technology still doesn’t succeed in its main purpose to forget your surroundings?
